Meppen-Walter previously represented England at youth level before his departure from Manchester City in 2013.

Following a 16-month prison sentence in 2013 for causing death by careless driving, Meppen-Walter restarted his career at Carlisle United. He later played across non-league football for clubs including Chorley, Radcliffe, and Bury, who released him in the summer of 2025 following a loan spell at Stalybridge Celtic.
