Birmingham City owners Knighthead consider £297m deal with instant £81m bonus

The Premier League has proposed a 10-year 'New Deal' to EFL clubs, including Birmingham City, owned by Knighthead Capital Management. The proposal would raise solidarity payments by £163 million annually by the 2028-29 season, alongside an immediate £81 million boost for the current campaign.

The extra funding requires agreements on financial cost controls, reducing Carabao Cup semi-finals to single-leg ties, and resolving stances on the Saturday 3pm broadcast blackout. EFL clubs have been requested to deliver their feedback before further meetings take place early next month.
