Birmingham City take on Preston North End in their next Championship game on Tuesday night (8pm)

Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has ruled midfielder Paik Seung-ho out of upcoming fixtures against Preston North End and Queens Park Rangers. Davies also provided updates on Max Bird and Demarai Gray, explaining that while both are close to starting, they need to build match fitness before taking on full starting roles following their recent appearances as substitutes.
Additionally, Davies outlined a cautious approach for Taylor Gardner-Hickman, who recently returned from a three-month injury layoff during the 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion. The manager noted that while Gardner-Hickman is not yet physically ready to start matches, his versatility will provide valuable squad depth once fully up to speed.
