Birmingham City have completed their five month search for a new director of football…

Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has discussed the role new director of football John Murtough will play ahead of the January transfer window. Murtough started at the club this week, engaging in early discussions with Davies and recruitment staff to evaluate plans and assist with potential mid-season strengthening.
Murtough's appointment ends a five-month search following Craig Gardner's departure. Davies praised the former Manchester United and Everton executive for his collaborative approach, noting that his arrival will allow the manager to focus primarily on coaching while working together on player recruitment.
