Gary Rowett drops hint about management future and makes ‘quite hard’ admission

Former Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has hinted he wants to step away from short-term Championship roles to take on a long-term building project. Speaking on talkSPORT, the 52-year-old manager admitted that taking on repetitive firefighting roles in the division has become quite hard after experiencing two relegations across recent seasons.

Rowett is currently without a club after leaving Leicester City at the conclusion of last season. Over his 14-year managerial career spanning 604 matches, Rowett has managed seven different Championship teams, including interim spells at Birmingham City and Leicester City, as well as stints with Oxford United, Millwall, Stoke City, Derby County, and Burton Albion.
