Andreas Hountondji reflects on his two years at Burnley…
Burnley forward Andreas Hountondji reflected on his time at Turf Moor, learning from Jamie Vardy, and working under new manager Fabio Celestini. After signing from Caen in July 2024 and spending loan spells at Standard Liege and St Pauli, the 24-year-old Benin international has earned back-to-back starts under Celestini following previous manager Nicky Hayen's departure.
Hountondji praised teammate Vardy's movement and mentality, stating he previously watched videos of the striker to improve his own game. He also noted that while his first Burnley goal came in a 4-1 defeat at Lincoln City, Celestini's arrival has established solid tactical basics and improved team mentality ahead of their clash with Cardiff City.
