The Story in 60 Seconds

Burnley's owners, ALK Capital, are in discussions with Companies House following a compulsory strike-off notice issued to their investment arm, Velocity Capital (UK) Holdings. The notice, dated for November 3, 2026, was served after the firm failed to submit its accounts on time. A spokesperson confirmed that advisers, accountants, and auditors are currently finalizing the filings to resolve the matter and bring reporting obligations up to date.

Failure to resolve the issue could result in the company being dissolved and removed from the Companies House register. This administrative issue follows significant turbulence for the club, including an increase in net debt to £142m as of July 2025. Burnley recently sacked manager Nicky Hayen after 14 games and appointed Diego Lopez to lead operations.
