Former Derby County boss Paul Warne gives his verdict on the club's collapsed takeover and the Rams hero on his way back from a nightmare

Former Derby County manager Paul Warne reflected on the club's collapsed takeover by billionaire boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh and provided an update on former Rams player Kane Wilson. Alalshikh withdrew from the prospective purchase on August 10, just an hour before the deal was scheduled to be announced. The sudden collapse left Derby owner David Clowes with only 21 days remaining in the summer transfer window to finish assembling the squad.
Warne, who currently manages MK Dons, also shared updates regarding Wilson's recovery from three separate knee surgeries. Wilson has missed a year of football following complications and is approximately eight weeks away from returning to grass training. Warne praised the defender's mindset and resilience as he continues rehabilitation at St George's Park.
