Paul Watson's role explained after his arrival as Middlesbrough's new chief technical officer…
Middlesbrough have appointed Paul Watson as chief technical officer alongside confirming new long-term contracts for head of football Kieran Scott and head of recruitment Chris Jones. Watson arrives to focus on technical operations and data management, serving as an operational link between departments at the club's Rockliffe base.
Watson will not handle recruitment directly, allowing Scott and Jones to focus fully on scouting. He will liaise with coach Kim Hellberg, head of performance Nick Allamby, and head of data Michael Lawson as Middlesbrough expand their data analysis setup.
