Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Sa has completely dismissed previous reports claiming he was close to joining West Ham United before moving to Forest. Speaking on Liga Portugal's videocast, Sa revealed he had zero knowledge of any negotiations or club agreements involving the Hammers, despite widespread reports at the time suggesting he was traveling to London.
Sa clarified that while media reports claimed a permanent move from Famalicao to West Ham was unfolding, he was actually spending time with his girlfriend at Azurara beach in Vila do Conde. The midfielder stated he only learned of the rumored West Ham interest when he was bombarded with messages, before eventually securing his move to England with Nottingham Forest.
