The Blues remain in 19th place after a Derby Day defeat at St Mary's.

Southampton secured a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth despite playing the entire second half with ten men. The hosts opened the scoring 20 minutes in when Finn Azaz set up James Bree for the game's only goal. Moments before the interval, Southampton midfielder Cameron Bragg was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for pulling Ebou Adams' shirt.
John Mousinho's Portsmouth side pushed for an equalizer in the second half but were repeatedly denied. Colby Bishop had a header saved and Keven Schlotterbeck cleared another effort off the line, while late substitute Marko Milovanović missed a close-range chance in stoppage time.
