Former Sheffield United defender Ben Mee announces surprise post-retirement role

Former Sheffield United defender Ben Mee has joined the UK Baller League after retiring from professional football at the end of last season. The 37-year-old center-back has signed with Deportrio, a team managed by former Manchester City players Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge. Deportrio currently sit second in the standings after eleven games.

Mee joins a Deportrio squad that features several former professional players, including Marc Albrighton, Martyn Waghorn, Marvin Sordell, and Josh Harrop. Prior to his retirement, Mee made 16 appearances for Sheffield United following his arrival on a free transfer.
