Sheffield United midfielder Joe Rothwell has undergone a minor groin operation and will be sidelined until after the international break, manager Chris Wilder confirmed. In contrast, Kalvin Phillips has recovered from an ankle injury sustained against Wrexham and is available for the upcoming match against Charlton Athletic after training fully.
Wilder stated that Rothwell could miss fixtures against Watford and Southampton while recovering. Meanwhile, striker Patrick Bamford faces a late fitness test regarding a shoulder issue to determine whether he can feature against Charlton. Phillips, on loan from Manchester City, was recently named United’s player of the month for October.
