QPR head coach Julien Stephan believes Saints and Middlesbrough are the Championship’s two strongest sides after his team lost 4-1 at St Mary’s.
QPR head coach Julien Stephan identified Southampton and Middlesbrough as the two best teams in the Championship following his side's 4-1 loss at St Mary's. Despite following a 5-0 win over Swansea with a heavy defeat, Stephan acknowledged the gap in quality, placing the south coast club alongside league leaders Middlesbrough as top promotion contenders.
Southampton extended their unbeaten home league run to 17 matches after Cam Bragg and Keven Schlotterbeck scored in the second half. Richard Kone scored a consolation goal for QPR, but Stephan lamented a poor 20-minute spell after halftime, which he called their worst collective performance of the season.
