Tim Ream, USA’s World Cup Captain, Makes Major Decision About His Career

Longtime defender and captain Tim Ream has announced his retirement from the United States men's national soccer team. The 38-year-old made the announcement on Tuesday ahead of an international friendly against Chile in his hometown. Ream stated that despite earlier discussions with head coach Mauricio Pochettino, the evolution of the national team made it time for him to step away.

Ream finishes his international career with 86 caps and 26 appearances as captain since his debut in November 2010. He confirmed he will continue his playing career with Major League Soccer club Charlotte FC.
