Khan throws down London Stadium gauntlet to West Ham chiefs Kretinsky and Sullivan

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has indicated he would consider any credible proposal from West Ham United chiefs Daniel Kretinsky and David Sullivan to purchase the London Stadium. Khan stated his openness to a sale in a response to Labour Assembly Member Bassam Mahfouz, on the condition that any potential deal delivers taxpayer value, protects the public interest, and preserves the venue's wider benefits to London.

The development follows Amanda Staveley's attempted club takeover, which reportedly included plans to acquire and redevelop the former Olympic Stadium. That bid ended after Kretinsky and Sullivan exercised their pre-emption rights, elevating Kretinsky's ownership stake to 46 percent as the largest shareholder and Sullivan's share to 40 percent.
