West Ham United head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has addressed his tactical decisions after substituting full-back Kyle Walker-Peters at half-time in consecutive Championship matches. The 29-year-old was withdrawn during a loss to Millwall and a 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers. Speaking ahead of the clash with Lincoln City, Nuno explained that the substitutions were tactical moves to adjust the team's shape, confirming he held discussions with the defender.
Nuno also addressed the status of midfielder Edson Álvarez, who has not yet played in the Championship this season following the arrival of Arne Engels. Despite speculation surrounding both players, the manager insisted that Walker-Peters understood the decisions and affirmed that Álvarez remains part of his first-team plans as the club navigates life following relegation.
