‘From Berlin to Belgrade and Barcelona: The story of Wolves in Europe’ by club historian, Pete Crump

Wolverhampton Wanderers club historian Pete Crump recounts the club's run to the inaugural 1971/72 UEFA Cup final. Wolves progressed through five rounds against Academica Coimbra, ADO Den Haag, Carl Zeiss Jena, Juventus, and Ferencvaros to reach their first European final under manager Bill McGarry.
Wolves were ultimately defeated 3-2 on aggregate by Tottenham Hotspur over two legs in May 1972. Despite falling 2-1 at Molineux and drawing 1-1 at White Hart Lane, Wolves finished the entire tournament undefeated away from home.
