The review criticized the pastry as lacking flavor and found the filling practically inedible due to an overpowering peppery seasoning, resulting in the pie being abandoned after a few bites. Although the serving temperature was deemed acceptable, Whilding awarded the pie a rating of 1/10 and noted plans to continue the series during an upcoming visit to Blackburn Rovers.
