Phil Parkinson believes Sam Smith is ready to kick on after making his mark in the 4-1 Championship win against Preston North End.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson backed striker Sam Smith to build momentum after scoring his first goal of the season in a 4-1 Championship victory over Preston North End at The Racecourse. Parkinson shifted to a 3-4-1-2 formation for the match, pairing Smith with leading scorer Kieffer Moore in attack for the first time this campaign.
Smith scored Wrexham's third goal in the second half, with Moore, Joe Worrall, and former Preston midfielder Ben Whiteman also finding the net. The victory rebounded from a previous 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion and brought Wrexham's season tally to 15 goals through 11 league matches.
