Sheffield Wednesday’s youngsters won in the FA Youth Cup on Monday evening.

Incoming Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Challinor reportedly attended Hillsborough on Monday to watch the club's under-18 side defeat Gateshead 6-0 in the FA Youth Cup first round. Wales youth international Will Grainger delivered an impressive performance, scoring twice as he seeks more first-team opportunities under the new management.
Substitute Charlie Robinson also scored a brace, alongside goals from Harry Chadbourne and Roman Cawley. Challinor had been expected to be formally unveiled as Wednesday manager on Monday, and the report notes there is no indication of any issues regarding his appointment.
