Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that Matt Hamshaw will take interim charge following the departure of Henrik Pedersen.

Sheffield Wednesday have announced that coach Matt Hamshaw will take interim charge of first-team affairs following the dismissal of Henrik Pedersen. Pedersen was relieved of his duties on Sunday afternoon following a 2-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers, leaving the Owls two points outside the League One play-off places. Hamshaw's interim tenure begins with Tuesday night's match against Cambridge United.
Hamshaw, a former Wednesday player who made 88 appearances for the club, rejoined the coaching staff in August to replace Craig Mudd. He previously served as manager of Rotherham United from April 2025 to March 2026 and also had a brief caretaker spell at Derby County.
