Former Sheffield Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson spent seven years with the club after signing from Bradford City for a reported £250,000 in January 2007 under manager Brian Laws. The Jamaican international made 254 appearances for the Owls, recording 30 goals and 24 assists before departing at the end of the 2013/14 season.
Johnson also served as an early mentor to teammate Liam Palmer during their overlap at Hillsborough. Following his exit from Sheffield Wednesday, Johnson signed with North American Soccer League team Indy Eleven for one season before returning to Jamaican club Tivoli Gardens.
