Striker could face further weeks on the sidelines
Chelsea striker Joao Pedro has been seeing a specialist in London during the international break to treat a knee injury and expedite his recovery. The 25-year-old withdrew from the Brazil national team after previously missing Chelsea's 3-0 defeat against Brentford. Early reports from Brazil suggested he could face up to four weeks on the sidelines.
While Joao Pedro initially experienced discomfort following a 2-2 draw with Hull City on September 12, Chelsea remains hopeful the issue is not long-term. No decision has been made regarding his availability for the match against Bournemouth on October 10 under manager Xabi Alonso.
