England captain and Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane won the 2026 men's Ballon d'Or and the Gerd Müller Trophy at a ceremony in London. Kane scored 73 goals in 65 matches for club and country throughout the season, finishing just behind Lionel Messi's single-season scoring record. He became the first English player to claim the prestigious individual award since Michael Owen in 2001.
Kane led Bayern Munich to a domestic treble under manager Vincent Kompany and captained England to a third-place finish at the World Cup. Elsewhere at the ceremony, Alexia Putellas secured her third Ballon d'Or Féminin, while Lamine Yamal took home the Kopa Trophy and Unai Simón won the Yashin Trophy.
