Canada get Guatemala rematch in Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals

Canada will face Guatemala in a two-legged Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal matchup next month. Guatemala clinched the quarterfinal berth after winning Group B on goal difference, sealed by Matthew Evans' stoppage-time goal in a 1-0 victory against Suriname. The second leg of the series is scheduled to take place at Toronto's BMO Field on November 16.

The matchup offers Canada an opportunity for revenge after Guatemala knocked them out on penalties in the 2025 Gold Cup quarterfinals. Led by manager Jesse Marsch, Canada aims to reach the semifinals and final at California's SoFi Stadium in March, while also securing qualification for the 2027 Gold Cup.
