An unexpected name could be returning from the CanMNT wilderness. Canada head coach Jesse Marsch is set to welcome 28-year-old forward Charles-Andréas Brym back into the Canadian men’s national team fold ahead of Les Rouges’ November matches against Guatemala in…

Canada head coach Jesse Marsch is set to call up NAC Breda forward Charles-Andréas Brym for November's Concacaf Nations League matches against Guatemala, according to Brym's club. Brym is expected to replace winger Jacob Shaffelburg, who suffered an apparent rib injury playing for LAFC against Seattle Sounders on Saturday night and was hospitalized, though Canada Soccer has not yet officially confirmed the squad change.
Shaffelburg's injury adds to a growing absence list for Canada, which already includes Moïse Bombito, Ismaël Koné, Alistair Johnston, Stephen Eustáquio, and Cyle Larin. Brym earned the prospective recall after scoring nine goals in 12 appearances for Dutch second-tier side NAC Breda this season.
