Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler left loanee striker Promise David out of the squad for Saturday's 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester City. David has registered only 78 minutes across four appearances in 14 eligible matches since joining on loan in August. Addressing concerns regarding the Canadian international's limited playing time, Hürzeler asked fans for patience as the forward adapts to the Premier League.
Hürzeler cited teammate Charalampos Kostoulas as an example of a player who required several months to adapt before establishing himself as a regular starter. Meanwhile, Brighton secured third place in the league table courtesy of an 11th-minute goal from Yasin Ayari. The club is reportedly still expected to exercise a purchase option on David's loan deal next summer.
