Could the University of Calgary’s new 5,000-seat stadium be the future home of NSL’s Wild?

The University of Calgary Dinos have begun public consultations for a proposed 5,000-seat stadium after reaching a $23 million fundraising goal. The planned venue could potentially serve as a future home ground for Northern Super League club Calgary Wild. The Wild currently share McMahon Stadium with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, but the aging venue's large capacity exceeds the club's average attendance.

The proposed on-campus facility would host soccer, football, and rugby, featuring a domed covering during winter months for community use and training. It remains without a set completion date. NSL clubs across Canada face similar venue transitions, with new stadiums planned in Winnipeg and Halifax, while the Wild conclude their 2026 campaign at the bottom of the table.
