Nathan Saliba has a major chance to be the main man for Canada in midfield when they play Guatemala in the Nations League quarterfinals later this month. With Stephen Eustáquio and Ismaël Koné out of the picture due to injuries…

Canada head coach Jesse Marsch praised Nathan Saliba's rapid development at Villarreal, stating the midfielder is prepared for bigger challenges ahead of Canada's Nations League quarterfinals against Guatemala. With key midfielders Stephen Eustáquio and Ismaël Koné sidelined by injuries, the 22-year-old Saliba is positioned to take on a prominent role for the national team following strong performances in LaLiga and the Champions League.
Marsch highlighted Saliba's tactical growth and increased intensity, noting his recent experience playing in advanced roles. The coach also compared Saliba's trajectory to newly called-up 18-year-old Feyenoord prospect Kevin Khan, hoping to accelerate the teenager's progression in a midfield group that also features veterans Jonathan Osorio and Mathieu Choinière.
