The Vancouver Whitecaps suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Colorado Rapids, reducing their Western Conference lead to just one point. Jesper Sørensen's side suffered further setbacks as both Emmanuel Sabbi and Yadaly Diaby were forced off with injuries. Morgan Whittaker scored the decisive goal in the 81st minute, heading in a rebound from close range after Yohei Takaoka pushed a shot onto the crossbar.
Vancouver struggled in attack, failing to produce a single shot on target during the second half. Takaoka made six saves to keep the Whitecaps competitive, but the loss leaves their conference advantage fragile ahead of remaining regular-season matches against San Diego FC, Seattle Sounders, and CF Montreal. Off the pitch, unresolved questions continue regarding the club's ownership and stadium arrangements at BC Place.
