Republic of Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson says it was "tempting" to include Seamus Coleman in his squad for this month's Nations League matches against Austria and Kosovo despite the defender having not played since June.

Republic of Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson has announced that free agent Seamus Coleman will take on a hybrid role during the upcoming Nations League camp. The 38-year-old former Everton defender, who has not played since June, will participate in training sessions while providing leadership support alongside the coaching staff for matches against Austria and Kosovo.
Hallgrimsson stated that Coleman wants to resume playing and hopes the camp environment will encourage him. The manager also named a 24-man squad featuring the return of captain Nathan Collins from injury, while Evan Ferguson, Josh Cullen, and Gavin Bazunu remain unavailable due to injuries.
