Hearts defender Kingsley will aim to put his embarrassment and frustration aside and ensure Sunday’s Celtic Park mauling does not have lasting effects.
Hearts defender and captain Stephen Kingsley expressed embarrassment following his team's heavy 7-1 defeat to Celtic at Celtic Park on Sunday. The 32-year-old labeled the performance a "calamity of errors," admitting Hearts played directly into the hands of the reigning William Hill Premiership champions by conceding cheap set-pieces and being punished on counter-attacks.
Kingsley emphasized the need for experienced players to regroup and prevent the heavy loss from affecting the squad's confidence. Managed by Wouter Vrancken, Hearts now turn their focus to European action as they travel to Turkey to face Trabzonspor in the Conference League on Thursday.
