Hibs reach pivotal junction as overseas appointment backed but club warned they must avoid another false dawn

Former Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan stated that Hibernian have reached a crucial junction following the dismissal of head coach David Gray. Gray was sacked after two-and-a-half years in charge at Easter Road, having guided the club to consecutive European campaigns before enduring a difficult start to the current season and an exit from the Conference League.

Allan warned sporting director Malky Mackay and the Hibs board to avoid the instability that followed Jack Ross' departure in 2021. He suggested the club may hire an overseas manager, citing the positive impact of coaches such as Jens Berthel Askou in the Scottish Premiership.
