Rangers and Celtic lodge appeals over SFA stadium closure and £100k fine ruling

Rangers and Celtic have lodged appeals against Scottish FA sanctions ordering both clubs to play their next home Scottish Cup ties behind closed doors and pay £100,000 fines. The disciplinary hearings for both clubs have been scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26.

The penalties stem from pitch invasions and clashes following Celtic's penalty shootout win at Ibrox on March 8. The disturbances resulted in 43 arrests by Police Scotland after officers and stewards sustained injuries amid thrown objects and pyrotechnics.
