Middlesbrough's dominant win over Bolton helped the club overtake Swansea for first in the Championship after weeks of trying. That said, it wasn't exactly all that positive for the other Championship clubs with American talent.

Aidan Morris scored the opening goal as Middlesbrough claimed a dominant 5-1 road victory against Bolton in Matchday 12 of the Championship. The win placed Middlesbrough at the top of the division, with American teammates Sebastian Berhalter and Max Arfsten also featuring in the match as Morris pushes for national team consideration.
Elsewhere, George Campbell played 90 minutes as West Brom salvaged a 1-1 draw against last-place Preston North End. Meanwhile, Stoke City dropped out of the top eight following a 0-0 draw against Bristol City, which featured American starters Jack McGlynn and Luca Bombino.
