FAW eyes more Wales games at Wrexham’s Racecourse

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) aims to host more international matches at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground once construction on the new Kop stand is finished. FAW chief executive Noel Mooney stated on BBC Radio Wales that the association wants both men's and women's national teams to feature at the venue more regularly following the expansion.

Completing the Kop stand will increase stadium capacity beyond 18,000, though Mooney noted higher capacity is necessary for competitive men's World Cup qualifiers due to high ticket demand. Wrexham chief executive Michael Williamson noted the club ideally envisions expanding the ground's capacity to between 26,000 and 29,000.
