Llunio Cymru: A ten-year plan for a confident, successful and inclusive Wales

The Football Association of Wales has launched "Llunio Cymru," a comprehensive ten-year strategy spanning 2026 to 2036 designed to develop football across every community and elevate the national teams on the international stage. Formulated after gathering more than 3,000 contributions across the country, the plan focuses on core values of excellence, family, respect, and courage to foster a successful and inclusive football ecosystem in Wales.

Key targets include expanding registered players from 120,000 to 160,000, establishing four elite academies with professional clubs, and increasing qualified coaches by 30%. Internationally, the FAW aims for senior teams to reach the knockout rounds of UEFA EURO 2028 and the 2035 FIFA Women's World Cup, alongside lifting the men's team into the FIFA top 20 and the women's team into the top 24.
