Substitute Aitor Mañas scored his first goal for the Alavés first team in the 89th minute against Málaga at Mendizorroza. The 1-1 draw left Málaga still searching for a first win and Alavés without a victory in six matches.

Substitute Aitor Mañas scored his first senior goal in the 89th minute to salvage a 1-1 draw for Alavés against bottom-placed Málaga at Mendizorroza. The visiting side had taken the lead late in the first half when Ramón Enríquez set up Adrián Niño, who scored for the third consecutive match. Mañas capitalized on a loose ball in the penalty box to deny Málaga their first victory of the LaLiga campaign.
The result leaves Málaga winless following their return to the top flight after an eight-year absence, while Quique Sánchez Flores's Alavés side snapped a two-game losing streak despite remaining winless across six matches. Málaga manager Juanfran Funes praised the first-half display as his team's best of the season, even as they failed to hold on to three points ahead of upcoming Copa del Rey and Andalusian derby fixtures.
