The Story in 60 Seconds

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are targeting Barcelona attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. PSG is reportedly preparing an offer of around €80m (£68m) for the 23-year-old, while Chelsea is also considering a sizeable permanent bid. Arsenal and Manchester United have also reportedly made inquiries regarding his availability.

Lopez is competing with Dani Olmo for minutes under manager Hansi Flick, tallying five goals and four assists in 12 appearances. Despite Barcelona's financial difficulties potentially tempting a sale, an exit remains unlikely as Lopez is under contract until June 2031 and previously stated a desire to remain at the club long term.
