Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong a lucrative contract if they can agree on a permanent transfer in January. According to a report by Football Insider, the Blues are willing to make the 29-year-old Netherlands international one of their highest-paid players in order to add control and veteran experience to their midfield.
A potential deal faces major challenges as Barcelona manager Hansi Flick considers De Jong an important player. Additionally, De Jong signed a contract extension last year that keeps him tied to the Spanish club until 2029, leaving Barcelona under no immediate pressure to sell.
