Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen was forced off with an apparent muscle injury during Saturday's La Liga match against Sevilla. The Denmark international started the game in central defense alongside Pau Cubarsi and provided an assist for Raphinha's equalizing goal. Christensen was substituted on the hour mark and appeared emotional on the bench with an ice pack on his thigh.
Manager Hansi Flick brought on Gerard Martin to replace Christensen, who is now expected to miss Denmark's upcoming international fixtures. The injury occurred just before a three-week international break, during which Denmark is scheduled to play Norway, Wales, and Portugal. Barcelona went on to lead the match 2-1 following a second goal from Raphinha.
