Barcelona have confirmed that defender Xavi Espart will miss approximately seven weeks due to an ankle injury sustained against Real Madrid. The youngster suffered an injury to the syndesmosis of his right ankle following a challenge from Aurélien Tchouaméni and was replaced early in Sunday's El Clasico by Alejandro Balde.
Espart's prolonged absence leaves manager Hansi Flick with limited defensive options ahead of upcoming matches against Alaves, Aston Villa, and Atletico Madrid. While Barcelona hope Jules Kounde will return this weekend, both Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen remain sidelined alongside Espart.
