Hansi Flick reveals Alejandro Balde’s big problem at Barcelona

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick revealed that defender Alejandro Balde is struggling with a lack of confidence and conviction this season. Speaking ahead of Barcelona's upcoming match against Alaves, Flick explained that the left-back needs more confidence to effectively press high, attack, and reach his best level within the team's system.

Balde has experienced reduced playing time this season but recently featured during defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid due to defensive injuries. With Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, and Xavi Espart sidelined, Flick noted that he must manage central defensive options and could potentially deploy Frenkie de Jong at center-back.
