Gordon’s rise fuelled by Barca belief and Ballon d’Or dreams ahead of Clasico

Anthony Gordon has revealed his ambitions of winning the Ballon d'Or and adapting his playstyle ahead of Barcelona's El Clasico clash against Real Madrid. The 23-year-old winger, who joined Barcelona from Newcastle United in a £69.3m permanent transfer in May, outlined how playing in Spain's possession-based system under manager Hansi Flick has helped evolve his game.

Gordon has registered two goals and four assists across 10 LaLiga matches for Barcelona this season. Manager Hansi Flick praised Gordon's dribbling, control, and chance-creation abilities, which have allowed teammate Raphinha to transition successfully into a prolific centre-forward role alongside fellow winger Lamine Yamal.
