Gabriel shocked United last month when he made his intentions clear that he wanted to depart, despite the club's opinion that he would be much better off staying.
Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel has been included in the club's official first-team squad photo despite expressing his desire to leave Old Trafford. The 15-year-old forward, who turns 16 on Tuesday, is subject to transfer interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. The squad photo was reportedly taken on September 8, two days before Gabriel last played for the team, and United continues to resist his demands to de-register him as a free agent.
Gabriel's pending 16th birthday will allow him to be legally represented by an agent and utilize an Irish passport to simplify a potential move abroad. Real Madrid has reportedly held talks with his camp, while Barcelona previously showed him around their facilities. Manager Michael Carrick stated that the club's primary focus remains Gabriel's welfare and personal protection amid ongoing speculation regarding his future.
