Raul Asencio is proving to be a massive liability for Real Madrid

Writer Hridyam Arora argues that defender Raul Asencio has become a liability for Real Madrid following news that he requires right leg surgery. The club confirmed the procedure, with MARCA reporting Asencio could miss four months. Asencio has not played a single minute this season, joining an injury list that includes Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao, and Rodrygo.

According to the article, manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wanted Asencio sold during the summer transfer window to make room for a new center back. However, the player refused to leave to fight for his place. Arora criticizes Asencio's recurring unreliability and fitness problems, which have contributed to defensive selection issues for Real Madrid.
