Chelsea are reportedly preparing an ambitious permanent double transfer for Barcelona duo Jules Kounde and Frenkie de Jong in January. Reports from Spain suggest Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso wants the club to spend roughly €120 million (£101 million) to secure both players, with Kounde valued around €55 million and De Jong at approximately €65 million.
The potential defensive reinforcement comes after Reece James underwent knee surgery, while De Jong is viewed as a solution to replace Enzo Fernandez following his departure to Manchester City. While CaughtOffside questions whether another major spending spree is ideal, both players are reportedly considered attainable if Chelsea make the right offers.
