Vinícius red card overshadowed Yan Diomandé’s first Real Madrid goal as Madrid beat Villarreal and stayed six points behind Barcelona.

Yan Diomandé scored his first goal for Real Madrid to secure a 1-0 victory over Villarreal on Saturday, October 10. However, the result was overshadowed when substitute Vinícius Júnior received a straight red card following a VAR review for pulling Nathan Saliba's hair, which also saw the Brazilian's goal disallowed.
Manager José Mourinho had benched Vinícius after international duty with Brazil before introducing him in the second half. Diomandé scored Madrid's winner off a pass from Federico Valverde, but Vinícius now risks a potential suspension ahead of El Clásico on October 25.
