Fifteenth in the Serie A standings with only one victory in five matches, Parma decided two days ago to dismiss

Parma Calcio 1913 has officially appointed Alberto Gilardino as the new head coach of their men's first team. The Emilia-Romagna club announced that the 2006 World Cup champion has signed a contract running through the end of the 2026/27 season, which also includes a club option for an additional two seasons.
Gilardino takes over after Parma dismissed former coach Carlos Cuesta following a difficult start in Serie A, where the team sat in 15th place with one win from five matches. Gilardino had been available without a club since leaving Pisa last February.
